A tough year at the Park

Thompson Park Bowling Club. Founded in 1938
This year has proved to be a tough one for Thompson Park Bowlers! Sadly, because of illness & injury, we've struggled for players. We had enough members in April, but for many reasons, the playing numbers fell. We have not yet played short, thanks to our "Super Sub" Gil Matheson, who though in his nineties will turn out whenever he's needed. Our Family fun bowls day went well & brought us 2 new members - younger members, who due to work commitments can only play in a limited number of leagues. Many of our stalwarts are playing up to 4 games a week and & loving it, but they do need a break occasionally. We're drawing up 2022 recruitment plans now, & hope to find a few capable bowlers from local teams that have sadly folded. Anyone looking to start bowling is very welcome & can come for a roll-up now free of charge with equipment & guidance available.

It's too cold & wet for bowling on our green, but the tennis table is always available for those hardy enough
Those Autumn leaves

The leaves are tumbling down at the Park, but they still look beautiful. We're pleased the ditches won't need raking for a while.
Not so green today
